Webinars

The MDBA is committed to providing water management information for communities and industries across the Murray–Darling Basin. The MDBA webinar series focuses on different aspects of water management and river operations across the Basin.

Rivers across the Basin are managed to ensure water resources are used as efficiently as possible for the benefit of all. Every catchment is different, and is governed by rules and policies that aim to meet the needs of all users along the river.

The management of water resources in the Basin is a partnership between the Australian Government, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory.

The MDBA is hosting a webinar on: Northern Basin activities

The northern Murray–Darling Basin includes northern New South Wales and southern Queensland in a complex network of people and places, industries and organisations with many and varied needs.

The northern Basin has a unique climate and water management arrangements which provides additional challenges when working towards a sustainable river system. To achieve a healthy working river system for the northern Basin, multiple measures are required.

During this webinar you will learn more about the history and hydrology of the northern Basin, current water management activities, how Basin governments are working with communities to ensure local knowledge and needs are considered and the challenges that will be faced under the future hotter and drier climate.
